Synopsis

It is the visual story of the construction of an art book, by a glorious FMR publishing house, entitled "ANTONIO CANOVA, the invention of beauty" is built through a trip to Italy, and accompanied by the voice of two travelers who, as in a travel diary, tell what they see with their eyes and above all what they

it excites them. The reference to the grand tour is obvious, but it is not enough, there is a relationship between the two travelers, they are a couple with their own communication methods and this only increases the empathy with the viewer as the images flow. Italy, with its cities and villages, becomes the extraordinary setting where the artisans are set who, with their centuries-old wisdom, build the art book, ancient crafts handed down from one generation to the next, and unknown to the youngest. To enrich the journey, the meeting with a great Italian photographer in his darkroom, Mimmo

Jodice, creator of the photographs that appear in the book, allows the viewer to be present too and share the emotion of a "live" meeting. Several narrative levels intertwine, the dialogue of travelers, artisans who tell their stories, Italy with its landscapes that show us who we are and above all who we have been, history with a capital S enters the film. This film translated into five languages is conceived together with great professionals in the sector, Maurizio Matrone for the screenplay, Roberto Cimatti for photography, Davide Pepe for editing and Roberta Barboni for production, was distributed all over the world and delivered to the

premier of the last G8. The film thus manages to be an Italian creative product that tells of a publishing house and its excellent product, the art book but at the same time tells of Made in Italy and through international art film festivals it has also reached a diversified and global audience. The publication, book and dvd is published together, in a single book with cardboard wrapping and with the DVD of the film inserted.
