DÖNME ISTANBUL, Fragments of change

Bio

Jacopo Mario Gandolfi (b.1980) is an independent filmmaker, writer and producer. He graduated in Cinema Studies at D.A.M.S. - Bologna University (Italy) and accomplished his M.A. in Screen Directing at the Drama Centre London - Central Saint Martins (UK).

He established the JMG WONDERS FILMPRODUCTION and he is a member of OPERA MUTICA, an international electro-acoustic multimedia ensemble that brings together musicians and filmmakers to originate live events exploring the relationship between sound/image and time/memory; the narratives triggered from live intervention on image and sound; the scenographic potentiality of expanded cinema. Between fiction and documentary, one influencing the other, his film making practice and visual research find inspiration in urban contexts and in the territorial motifs of its people to tell and generate new narratives around and from the places. He lives and works in Istanbul.
