What really happened in that field?
Director's Notes
The documentary tells a sad news story that dates back to July 29, 2015, when Mauro Guerra lost his life due to a bullet fired by a marshal of the carabinieri.
"Five years after the incident (2020) we tried to tell a fact with very ambiguous contours. The death of Mauro Guerra is part of the so-called State Deaths, a theme very dear to me that I have already followed in the past with the documentary Il mio nome è Massimo e chiedo giustizia and subsequently with the associations Acad, Stefano Cucchi Association and On my skin telling the drama the families victims of abuse by the police ".
Making a documentary of this kind means having to spend long periods with these families who, having passed the moment of initial interest with the proximity of the press, friends and locals, then find themselves with all their fragility having to fight alone battles bigger than them in all respect.
Being able to have close associations and movements such as Amnesty and A buon diritto that deal with human rights and strongly support these causes, for them can certainly be a source of comfort and a way to feel a little less abandoned by society.
Arnold's Rules for Success has been selected at Impacte Festival 2021, Catalunya Human Rights Festival, RiFilm 2021 and Visioni Italiane 2021.
The documentary that has obtained the important patronage of Amnesty Italia takes up the theme of "State Deaths" and through the reading of the sentence, the videos, the testimonies and the expert reports, it tries to shed light on how things went on the last day of Mauro's life.
