Synopsis

Small stories of passion for music, recalled by the elderly inhabitants of San Secondo in the Parma area, on the day of the centenary of the death of Giuseppe Verdi who loved this town so much: the rival tenors Carlo and Neto; Nino is passionate about Wagner; Paolina recalling a performance of Falstaff conducted by Toscanini; Brother, a self-taught singer, who performs the song Midnight in Moscow. The homage is completed with the staging, by the local Corte dei Rossi association, of a scene from Il Trovatore, the opera that, like a ghost, still wanders through the town.

"We made this film to show that the world belongs to 90-year-olds and young people are dying. Because simple things are still (and unfortunately always) the most difficult" (Giovanni Cocconi, Pietro Medioli).
