Synopsis

"Rotta per il Pilastro" is a medium-length film written, directed and performed by the students of the Pilastro Film Laboratory.

Route to the Pillar, the result of the work of the workshop of Enza Negroni and Renato De Maria aimed at a group of teenagers involved in the Pillar Film Workshop, a project wanted by the Municipality of Bologna in the 90s, Interlocutors and protagonists of this initiative were young people from the area from sixteen to twenty years old, who thanks to this workshop were able to learn and experiment with cinematographic and directing techniques, with the help and participation of important Italian directors and actors.

"Route to the Pillar" the medium-length film written, directed and performed by the students of the Laboratory, was the result of this experience. Divided into 2 episodes, "Double chance" and "The Condominium", it is a real docu-drama that describes stories of adolescents, dealing with youth issues and problems in the neighborhood in a very realistic way. The new actors convey a very faithful image of a cross-section of the Pillar in the 90s , tracing languages and lifestyles.

"Route to the Pillar" is also an  interesting documentary that reproduces the spirit with which this initiative was born and developed; in fact , it contains interviews and testimonies of the students who participated in the Workshop, describing the "backstage", their experiences, their emotions ... There are also clips of famous people and actors such as Antonio Albanese, Pino Cacucci, Ermanno Cavazzoni and Freak Antoni, who came to meet the young students.

The students are between sixteen and twenty years old, they all reside in the Pilastro district of Bologna and are at their first film experience. They are: Emiliano Aureli (Bologna, 1978), Paolo Biondo (Bologna, 1977), Sonia Berardi (Bologna, 1977), Carmela Bruno (Polla, Sa, 1977), Pierluigi Bruno (Polla, Sa, 1975), Eugenio Cusina (Bologna, 1973), Gregorio Buccolieri (Bologna, 1975), Maurizio Cossentino (Bologna, 1977), Marcello Mezzeti (Bologna, 1976), Lucia Mauro (Bologna, 1971), Marilena Mauro (Bologna, 1975), Gianluca Coco (Bologna, 1971), Francesca Marcella Mauro (Bologna, 1980), Diana Pinardi (Bologna, 1977) .
