Synopsis

Parma, 1922. An entire district of the city, the Oltretorrente, rebels against the nascent fascism.

Through eight actors who play as many fictional but plausible characters, the authors and the working group have tried to narrate the story from the bottom up and bring it back to the present.

The places filmed are those of today's Oltretorrente in relation to the places photographed by Amoretti in the 1920s. The commoners fixed by the camera come to life through imaginary biographies and with flesh-and-blood actors who tell their lives and the events of the famous historical event.

The actors are filmed while rehearsing their roles, while wearing the clothes of the time and in the street, in the villages in contact with the citizens of the Oltretorrente di Parma, today. The cinematographic story proceeds "live", without voice-over and without archive images, except for the photographs: studied, enlarged to enter that world and those lives in the most plausible way.
