Il rumore del tempo, Bologna September 1977

In September 1977, in Bologna, during the days of the conference against repression, a group of young people, including the author, drove around in a slightly rickety van that bore the faces of the Marx brothers and Buster Keaton on its sides, passing a super8 camera from hand to hand. That van was the mobile headquarters of the then nascent record label Harpo's Bazar from whose archive meters and meters of film have come out after thirty years. Transferred digitally and edited, those images return in a sort of 'Videopoem' chasing the noise of those days and those generations that the square still managed to unite, with the noise, the thoughts, the impetus of that time, accompanied by the songs of the Confusional Quartet or Gaz Nevada, and by those of other musical groups remixed in a disco version and by a photographic reinterpretation that gives them back to us through the dust of time.

Between 24 and 27 September 2007 the video was presented in spaces for art and culture in many Italian cities in an action that aimed to solicit and unite thoughts, actions, images and reflections on freedom of expression as a common thread, ideally connecting many spaces that have responded and continued to respond to this tam tam, which started from the NEONcampobase Gallery in Bologna, during the year.
