New Faustian World

Synopsis

Bologna, 2018. In a world where human destiny seems to have resigned itself, Raffaele Quattrone, walking through the streets of the city, tells the story of 17 international artists endowed with a Faustian Factor: a strong and recognizable artistic identity and an exasperated virtuosity that allows them to be in rivalry with the infinite possibilities of computers, with photographic precision and with the actions and reactions deriving from videos and performances. NewFaustianWorld is the world of these painters who, like Goethe's Faust, emblem of modern man, have an inner tension with which they are not satisfied with the ordinary but let the extraordinary be their philosophy of life, accepting the challenges that await them.

The visual language of the film, halfway between documentary and fiction, pays homage to the personality of each artist by recreating in the individual scenes the world that we find in the works of these artists. It is like entering their work, into the creative world of the artist.
